Shield and cephalic appendages. - Ocular scale with a single terminal spine.

Chelipeds (P1). - Upper margin of right chela smooth. Outer face of left palm regularly convex.

Ambulatory legs (P2-P3). - Dactyl of P3 subequal to propodus or slightly shorter (0.6–0.9). Distal pilosity of P3 weak, similar to distal P2.

Armament of telson. - Left lobe of telson with a single spine. Right lobe with a single spine (range 0–1).

Coloration. - Shield white or cream. Ocular peduncle multicolored without narrow ring close to cornea. Detailed coloration of ocular peduncle: orange narrow basal ring, sky-blue ring on proximal 1/3, distal 2/3 orange. Distal antennular peduncle blue or dark blue (basal segments also but with orange tinges at articulation; flagella orange). Distal antennal peduncle yellow-orange (first and second segments pale green, third segment yellow-orange; flagellum orange). Chela uniformly colored, often grading to paler distally (black with fingers, and a variable portion of distal lower half of palm, white; carpus of cheliped black). Ambulatory legs (P2 & P3) with ring(s) and longitudinal bands (dactyl white with a transverse dark ring; other segments brown with a longitudinal dark line on merus and carpus).

Habitat. - Intertidal rocky shores.

Geographic distribution. - Widely distributed: eastern Africa; Madagascar; Seychelles; Mauritius & Rodrigues; Christmas & Cocos Islands; Australia; Indonesia; Taiwan; Japan; Mariana; Hawaii; French Polynesia. Indo-West Pacific.
