Shield and cephalic appendages. - Ocular scale with several terminal spines (3–6 spines).

Chelipeds (P1). - Upper margin of right chela tuberculated or spinous. Outer face of left palm regularly convex.

Ambulatory legs (P2-P3). - Dactyl of P3 subequal to propodus or slightly shorter. Distal pilosity of P3 weak, similar to distal P2.

Armament of telson. - Left lobe of telson with several spines disposed on posterior and lateral margins (10–15 spines in total). Right lobe with several spines (9–12).

Coloration. - Shield white or cream (to pale brown). Ocular peduncle multicolored without narrow ring close to cornea. Detailed coloration of ocular peduncle: proximally pink, grading to pale pink or white distally. Distal antennular peduncle blue or dark blue (pale brown on basal segments and proximal half of ultimate segment; flagella orange). Distal antennal peduncle yellow-orange (to cream; basal segments with same color; flagellum pale orange). Chela with submedian patch or spot on outer face (background gray-olive to gray-brown, fading to white on fingers; carpus of cheliped grey-brown). Ambulatory legs (P2 & P3) with ring(s) and longitudinal bands (rose pink and cream rings; propodi with longitudinal dark stripes on proximal 3/4).

Habitat. - Shallow-waters (subtidal to 25 m).

Geographic distribution. - Eastern Indian Ocean, Cocos Keeling, Christmas & Cartier Islands; Indonesia; western Pacific, Japan, New Guinea, Loyalty Is., Mariana, Taiwan. Indo-West Pacific.

Remarks. - One of the three species that have a black spot on outer face of palm (see C. gouti and C. pulcher).
