Shield and cephalic appendages. - Ocular scale with a single terminal spine.

Chelipeds (P1). - Upper margin of right chela tuberculated or spinous. Outer face of left palm regularly convex.

Ambulatory legs (P2-P3). - Dactyl of P3 subequal to propodus or slightly shorter. Distal pilosity of P3 weak, similar to distal P2.

Armament of telson. - Left lobe of telson with several spines disposed on posterior and lateral margins (lateral margin with 8–10 spines; posterior margin with 3–6). Right lobe with several spines (6–8).

Coloration. - Shield orange (coloration from preserved specimens only). Ocular peduncle multicolored with narrow ring close to cornea. Detailed coloration of ocular peduncle: proximally pink, medially orange, narrow white ring close to cornea. Distal antennular peduncle blue or dark blue (on distal half only; basal segments and proximal half of terminal segment orange; flagella yellow). Distal antennal peduncle yellow-orange (basal segments and flagellum similarly colored). Chela with brown, dark orange or red patches (background pink with brown patches on inner and outer faces and along ventral margin; carpus pink with subtriangular brown patch on outer face). Ambulatory legs (P2 & P3) with longitudinal bands (background pink with longitudinal orange brown stripes).

Habitat. - Intertidal rocky shores, shallow-waters (from shore to depth of 23 m).

Geographic distribution. - Easter Island only. Indo-West Pacific.

Remarks. - Endemic species of Easter Island.
